Bavkhals are the traditonal water bodies of vasai which was constructed more than 200 years ago, these are ancestral resource, owned among communities and families, holding immense cultural heritage. In the past it was extensively used for irrigation and fishing but due to overtime negligence, Unchecked urbanization, rapid development of the region and increased population the condition of these Bavkhals deteriorated.
