The study was conducted in the urban areas in Gujarat which are highly prone to frequent storms, flash flooding, heatwaves, air pollution, industrial hazards and other extreme weather events. Climate change is expected to further increase the variability of rainfall patterns along the Gujarat coastal plain, with intense rainfall events causing more frequent flooding, reduced groundwater infiltration, and longer dry spells affecting drinking water availability.
