India’s rapid urbanization has led to increased greenhouse gas emissions, particularly from buildings, which account for 37% of the nation’s energy consumption. In Mira Bhayandar, this project focuses on retrofitting three selected schools to enhance sustainability and resilience, targeting a minimum 20% improvement in energy and water efficiency. These schools were chosen based on factors such as structural stability, student population, building orientation, and their potential to serve as emergency shelters during crises.
