The goal of ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) is to enhance the resilience of communities and ecosystems against the impacts of climate change by harnessing the inherent functions and benefits of natural ecosystems. EbA techniques offer benefits for both people and the environment, ranging from wetland restoration to mitigate sea-level rise to forest conservation and restoration for mitigating the impacts of extreme weather events.
Recognizing the crucial role of ecosystems in climate regulation, AKAH places significant emphasis on initiatives such as water regulation, carbon sequestration, and coastal protection. Additionally, AKAH supports green livelihoods to foster resilience in both natural systems and communities.
